BOARD OF ISLAND TRUSTEES

JULY 3, 1999

The location of the meeting was the Community Center at Frye Island Maine.

Conrad Theberge, Frye Island Town Clerk, called the meeting to order at 9:16 A. M.
 
Article 1. To choose a moderator to preside at said meeting.  Town Clerk opened the floor for nominations for Moderator.  James Kuiken nominated Joseph Potts and Anne Garceau second the nomination.  Voters voted in favor of Joseph Potts as Moderator.  
 
Article 2.

To vote by written ballot to elect a person to a three-year term to the Executive Committee of the Board of Island Trustees.  The following people were nominated:  Pat Karpacz, Richard Giggey, Mark Thomas, and John Crosby.  Ernest Wrzesinsky made motion to close nominations and James Kuiken second this motion. Unanimous vote. 

Pat Karpacz received 30 votes
Richard Giggey received 12 votes
Mark Thomas received 27 votes
John Crosby received 22 votes

Pat Karpacz was elected to a three-year term on the Board of Island Trustees.
 

Article 3.

To vote by written ballot to elect a person to a three-year term to the Executive Committee of the Board of Island Trustees.  The following people were nominated from the floor: Mark Thomas, Richard Giggey, John Crosby, and James O’Connor. Ernest Wrzesinsky made motion to close nominations and James Kuiken second this motion. Unanimous vote.

Mark Thomas was elected to a three-year term on the Board of Island Trustees
 

Article 4.

To vote by written ballot to elect a person to a two-year term to the Executive Committee of the Board if Island Trustees. The following people were nominated from the floor were: James O’Connor, Richard Giggey, and John Crosby. Robert Roberts moved to close nominations and James Kuiken second. Unanimous vote.

Richard Giggey was elected to a two-year term to the Executive Committee of the Board of Island Trustees.  
 

Article 5.

To vote by written ballot to elect a person to a one year term to the Executive Committee of the Board of Island Trustees. The following people were nominated: John Crosby, James O’Connor and Carlton Hommel. Ernest Wrzesinsky moved that nominations are closed and James Kuiken second this motion.  Vote was unanimous.

John Crosby was elected to a one-year term of the Executive Committee of the Board Island Trustees.
 

Article 6. To see if the Town, pursuant to 23 MRSA §3025, will vote to accept the dedication made by Frye Island, Inc. of an easement interest in a trip of land bounded and described as follows: all roads on Frye Island as the exist on July 3, 1999 and as they are designated on the Official E-911 map, and to accept and establish a public easement on said strip of land.  James Kuiken made the motion and Ernest Wryzesinsky second the motion.  The residents passed this article.
 
Article 7.

To vote to adopt the amended Chapter 102, Section 102-16, Town of Frye Island Shoreland Zoning, add new paragraph.  The board of Appeals shall schedule meetings approximately once a month between April 30, and Columbus Day and the Board shall not be required to hold a meeting or hearing otherwise.  The Board shall no be required to hold a meeting if no appeals are pending.  John Crosby made a motion to accept article 7 and Geoff Rice second this motion. The voters passed this article.  
 

Article 8. To see if the Town, pursuant to 23 MRSA §3025, will vote to accept the dedication made by Frye Island, Inc. of an easement interest in a Strip of land bounded and described as follows: all roads on Frye Island as the exist on July 3, 1999 and as they are designated on the Official E-911 map, and to accept and establish a public easement on said strip of land. James Kuiken made a motion to adjourn and Ernest Wrzesinsky second this motion.  Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 9:59AM
