MINUTES OF THE SELECTMEN'S MEETING

WITH BIT EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE PARTICIPATION

 

TOWN OF FRYE ISLAND

JULY 7, 2006

 

The location of the meeting was the Community Center, Town of Frye Island

 

SELECTMEN:  James Kuiken

 

BIT EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE:  Bruce Nisula, Joe Potts, Debbie Anthony,

                                                            James Kuiken

 

TOWN MANAGER:  Wayne Fournier

 

TREASURER:  Carl Hommel         `

 

There was no formal meeting held at this time due to the fact a quorum was not present.

 

An informational meeting was held for the BIT Executive Committee.

 

 

MARINA REPORT:

Quail Circle is full with a waiting list

 

Marina has 1 General slip available and 1 annual renewable slip available.

 

One equity slip holder has not yet paid and Wayne is to notify him.

 

POWER FAILURE:

There was a power failure on July 3, 2006 which was caused by an overload on one phase and a cutout was blown.  Central Maine Power Co. will put an amprobe on line to check the current readings.

 

BEACH 10:

The Schiessers will not be at this meeting and will come to the next BOS meeting to protest their fine.

 

FERRY INSURANCE:

On June 30, 2006, Clark Insurance called to let us know that One Beacon is going to put ferries on Port Risk - if ferries are taken out of slip we will not be insured.  A stability test will be conducted by Tom Farrell from Damariscotta for a cost of $3,000.00 for one boat and $4,000.00 for both boats if they are done simultaneously.

 

SAD 6:

Town's briefs will be submitted on July 19, 2006.  The State has 30 days to respond and the Town then has 14 days to respond to the State.

 

WASTE DISPOSAL AGREEMENT:

MERC price has dropped from $85.45 per ton to $81.00 per ton.

 

Awaiting a quote from MWAG from Auburn, ME.

 

PLANNING BOARD:

Planning Board is still short 1 alternate member
