Town of Frye Island
Planning Board Meeting
Saturday, September 4, 1999, 8:30 am

     Location:  Community Center

Present:       Bob Hannah, Marge Hommel, Ed Johnson, Patty Meyer, David Treacy, Goeff Rice, Ed Charrette

The chairman, Bob Hannah called the meeting to order.

Since there is a budget hearing in an hour, we VOTED to do as much as we can, and to reconvene to finish the agenda on Monday morning, September 6, at 8:30 am.

We discussed the Ordinance to ban the use of firearms, and voted to have a public hearing on it.

We discussed the zoning map changes and VOTED to have a public hearing on it

We discussed the Land Use Changes.  Marge Hommel gave out a spreadsheet to show the current usages allowed.

The change to the minimum lot size in a residential zone was discussed last week.  We agreed that it should go to 30,000 sq feet.  The setbacks will remain as Standish set them for lots under 40,000 sq feet.  We will include the diminished setbacks for small accessory buildings, as the board voted last year.

Bob Hannah explained that the Comprehensive Plan survey was being printed now.  As most of the Board members had seen and approved it, he asked for approval from the board.  The board VOTED to approve the survey, with Marge Hommel abstaining.  The Board commended Bob for his very hard work in putting the survey together..

Bob asked that we add an ammendment to the Shoreland Ordinance to add that stairs to not count in measuring the setback from the shorefront.  It was VOTED to have a public hearing on this change.

At the reconvened meeting on Monday, we VOTED to submit the Road Ordinances for a public hearing.

The meeting was then ajourned.
