Town of Frye Island - Planning Board Meeting
Saturday, July 10, 8:30 am

     Location:  Community Center

     Present: Bob Hannah, Marge Hommel, Ed Johnson, Patty Meyer, Geoffrey Rice

     Visitors: David Treacy, Lot 501 Playground Lane, Mary Hunt, Lot 1620

The meeting was called to order by the Vice Chairman, Ed Johnson.  The minutes of the June 24 meeting were approved.

When we set our meeting, we did not realize that the Selectman’s meeting would come after ours.  We decided to continue with our business, and then recess our meeting until after the Selectman’s meeting, when we would continue our meeting to reorganize.

Bob Hannah stated that we need a comprehensive Town Plan in order to have zoning ordinances.  There is a training video, which Vic will find.

We cannot exclude Manufactured homes from the town, according to state law.  Our proposed zoning ordinances need to be adjusted to reflect this fact.

Mary Hunt asked that the age limit for driving golf cats be set to 14.  She also stated that there seem to be 2 different maps of  Frye Island Lots.  The one that the realtors are using is different that the one we have.  Patty Meyer agreed to find out if this is true.

Ed Johnson pointed out that, according to the Boca Code, adopted at our Town Meeting, accessory buildings under 120 square feet do not need a building permit.  But they must still meet the setback requirements.

We continued discussion of the Zoning Ordinance.  Changes are noted on that copy.

The meeting was suspended, to continue at 6:30 pm after the Selectman’s meeting.

The meeting reconvened at 6:30 pm.  The Selectmen had made the following appointments:

3 year terms:  Bob Hannah, Marge Hommel
2 year terms:  Ed Johnson, Ed Charrette
1 year term:  Geoffrey Rice
Alternates:  Patty Meyer, David Treacy.

Bob Hannah was elected Chair,  Ed Johnson was elected Vice Chair, Marge Hommel was elected Secretary.

The meeting was adjourned.
