MEETING CALLED TO ORDER BY CHAIRPERSON JEAN SULLIVAN-TOOMEY

MEMBERS PRESENT: WALT HENSEL, TIM MCcARTY, JEAN SULLIVAN-TOOMEY, KEN DOLLOFF, PIPSA AMATO, TIM TOOMEY, BOB BOYD

MEMBERS ABSENT:

TIM MCcARTY TO CHAIR NEXT MEETING.

MEETING STARTED WITH MUCH DISCUSSION ON CHANGING THE WORD HOUSE TO PROPERTY ON “ONE HOUSE ONE SLIP” CURRENTLY IN THE POLICY. JEAN QUESTIONS WEATHER IT IS LEGAL AND AMATO HAS PROBLEM WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF A LOT OWNER GETTING A SLIP BEFORE A HOMEOWNER UNDER THE NEW WORDING. KEN DOLLOFF BRINGS UP THAT IN THE PAST PEOPLE BOUGHT UNBUILDABLE LOTS SO THAT THEY COULD HAVE A SLIP. WALT HENSEL SAID THAT NEW LANGUAGE SHOULD BE BASED ON AN ACTIVE BUILDING PERMIT, WHICH HAS A LIFE OF 2 YRS. THIS WOULD THEN BE SELF POLICING AND WOULD PREVENT SOMEONE FROM OBTAINING A PERMIT JUST TO GET A SLIP.

BOB BOYD WANTS THE YACHT CLUB MEMBERS TO HAVE A VOTE ON ALL THE CHANGES SO THAT THEY WOULD NOT FEEL DISENFRANCHISED. KEN DOLLOFF SAID IT WOULD BE DISCRIMINATION IF THE YACHT CLUB MEMBERS WERE DENIED THE RIGTH TO VOTE. BOB BOYD SAID THE POLICY CHANGES SHOULD BE MADE SO THEY STAND ON THEIR OWN.

A DISCUSSION WAS HAD ON WHAT OUR PUPOSE IS: TO REPRESENT THE YACHT CLUB MEMBERS TO FII AND TO MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS ON CHANGES TO POLICY, BUDGET AND GENERAL MARINA ISSUES.

JEAN SULLIVAN-TOOMEY WANTS TO KNOW WHERE THE MONEY FOR THE NEW RAMP IS THAT WAS APPROVED LAST YEAR.

WALT HENSEL MOTIONED TO KEEP POLICY AS IS WITH REGARD TO YACHT CLUB MEMBERS NOT VOTING. BOYD 2ND AND VOTE DID NOT PASS.
IT WAS THEN VOTED ON NOT TO FOLLOW THE CURRENT POLICY.
AMATO MOTIONED TO CHANGE THE WORDING AS FOLLOWS: (THE CHANGED WORDS ARE) ALL YACHT CLUB MEMBERS WILL HAVE RIGHT TO VOTE. JEAN SULLIVAN-TOOMEY 2ND WITH ALL IN FAVOR.

JEAN SULLIVAN-TOOMEY VOICED CONCERN THAT SOMEONE MAY TRY TO GET BUILDING PERMIT JUST TO HAVE SLIP. TIM MCcARTY MOTIONED TO MAKE THE HOUSE OR PROPERTY HAVE AN ACTIVE BUILDING PERMIT. KEN DOLLOFF 2ND WTH ALL IN FAVOR.

TIM MCcARTY WILL SEND THIS TO WAYNE FOR LEGAL.

LOT OWNERS WILL BE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO USE GENERAL RENTALS. THE GENERAL RENTAL POOL NUMBERS MAY NEED TO BE REVISITED SO AS NOT TO LEAVE VACANT SLIPS LIKE WE HAD THIS YEAR. WALT HENSEL SUGGESTS A TIME-SHARE CONCEPT SO THAT THESE SLIPS WOULD BE USED EVERY WEEK OF THE SEASON.

WALT HENSEL SUGGESTS WE TABLE THE PROFIT AND LOSS STATEMENT AND WORK ON IT LATER.

HOMEWORK: GO OVER LINE BY LINE ALL ISSUES AND CONCERNS ON THE YACHT CLUB POLICY SO THAT WE CAN FINALISE CHANGES NEXT MEETING.

MUCH DISCUSSIONS ON PARKING RESTRICTIONS AT THE MARINA WERE BROUGHT UP BY MEMBERS. PREVIOUS WORK DONE LAST YEAR TO IMPROVE PASSAGE ON THE CAUSEWAY WERE NOT COMPLETED. THE PASSAGE OF EMERGENCY VEHICLES & LIMITED PARKING CAN BE A PROBLEM IF THE AREA IS NOT MAINTAINED. PREVIOUS DISCUSSIONS WITH THE FIRE DEPARTMENT CHIEF AS WELL AS TESTING PROVED THAT AS LONG AS 11 FEET IS CLEAR AND THE TURNAROUND AT THE END IS FREE OF CARS, THE SAFETY ISSUE GOES AWAY. WE AS A COMMITTEE MUST MAINTAIN THE PARKING AND PREVENT SAFTY ISSUES. TO DO THIS, TOOMEY PROPOSED TO FINISH THE WORK THIS FALL WHICH INCLUDED SIGNAGE.

TIM MCcARTY MOTIONED FOR TIM TOOMEY TO GET PRICE TO INSTALL AND IMPROVE PARKING ALONG CAUSEWAY AREA AT MARINA. WALT HENSEL 2ND WITH ALL IN FAVOR.

LANDSCAPING TABLED FOR FUTURE MEETING.

AN INFORMAL SESSION WORKSHOP WAS SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY 8 PM AT THE GOLF CLUB.
